ASC – Tremendous Mike

Mike was made in the late fifties by ASC in Japan… made in 2 variations, grey and orange. Made out of tin with a clockwork mechanism that provides forward action and a mechanism that changes the direction, sparks and rotating antenna on top of the robots head.

The robot is made out of tin and runs on a clockwork mechanism with sparks in his chest. Mike is for sure one of the most sought after robots from the early sixties ! Hard to find in any condition and not many survived time.

I found this robot recently in Italy where it was part of a small toy collection. Surprisingly this was the only Robot in that toy collection, the rest were cars, and trucks and stuff like that. The seller contacted me long time ago about this robot.. than did not hear from him for weeks and suddenly the deal could proceed ! 🙂 just like the good old days…

The condition is all original and complete. Only the antenna is a professional made 3D printed reproduction. Overall condition is excellent with some normal wear throughout the body as you can expect from a robot from the late fifties. Overall its a very nice example, not perfect but for sure above average. This is how a vintage robot should look like imo.
Robot works fine with all the actions.
