Marx – Moon Creature

If it comes from outer space then it definitely earns a place on this website but it must be made in Japan and made of TIN 🙂
These mechanical moon creatures were made in Japan in the mid 1960`s by Marx. There were made 2 variations of which you see one at this moment. I have also the other variation listed somewhere on this website.

This one crossed my path already back in 2014 when i visited a storage here in Holland that was filled to the roof with toys and many robots as well. Back then i was not able to grab any of the toys because the owner was not really ready to part with them. now, 6 years later it turns out he passed away and one of his children is selling parts of the collection so the toys cross my path again..

In action the moon creature can be wound up and then it moves forward with rolling eyes, shuffling action and opening and closing mouth. Very cute toys that are popular these days by robot and space toy collectors.
Made in Japan under the Marx Brand. made out of tin with a windup clockwork mechanism.

The condition of this example is excellent. The ears are professional made ( by me ! 🙂 3D printed Flexible Reproductions.
In played with condition, works well. Tinmade with clockwork mechanism. The box is a bit tatty but overall very nice. I would say C7 original box.
These Creatures show up from time to time but mostly missing the box. Hard to find in this complete and original condition !
