Daiya - Ranger Robot

The hanging ears are undoubltly unique for this robot. It was never made with the ears this way but the few Ranger Robots that survived seems to suffer all from this strange looking ears: they hang and
why ?:  the ears were factory glued into the transperant plastic but the glue that was used caused a chemical reaction with the 2 different kinds of plastic and made the ears simply drop out of the transperant plastic ( a bit )  during the years the glue hardened out and the process stopped but leaves the ears of this wonderfull robot in a strange position :).

Ok enough about the ears now because we are looking here at a rare and scarce robot, build in Japan in the early 1960`s by Daiya. Ranger robot is a very early plastic made robot ( with some parts of tin, not much I must admit ) and its unique in many ways. Lets face it, the robot just looks awesome with the transperant plastic. You can see the enigine, smoking device and the gears etc etc.
There is light, smoke and the robot is even able to walk. Its really unique that such fragile robots could ever survive the years.

The condition of this Ranger Robot is very good to excellent but time left its marks on this robot.  The robot still works and walks and the lights are working fine. Even the smoking device is working but only a very little smoke is comming out of his mouth. The only real flaw lies in the batterycompartment where a VERY small chip is missing from the base ( so small you can not even see it in the pictures ) and one of the knobs that closes the compartment is missing.
This is a very easy fix but I strongly suggest to leave it this way. Its so minor, it does not have any effect on the robots functions and you can only do more bad than good.

Ranger Robot is a very rare and scarce robot from which only a handfull survived. This example is more then 50 years old and only missing a small chip and a little knob to close the batterycompartment. I say WOW, it survived wonderwell !! The antenna, the hanging ears, the arms, feet etc etc, its all there, perfect condition and still working. The robot is missing its original box.

Daiya Ranger Robot only survived in very small quantities and they show up never in the open market. VERY rare and scarce robot this is missing in most collections.
