Alps - Television Spaceman first version

This robot who has 2 "brothers" ( more about them later :-) is one of my personal favorites. The design and action are all a robot of the sixties should have, strongly build to survive many hours of playfun. The actions are great: the robot walks, has spinning eyes, a colorfull mouthsection and in his chest there is a real spacemovie visable, wow !!

A very nice detail is the ON/OFF switch. The iron antenna, which is also very nice crafted must be inserted in his head to get the robot going. This robot is, as far as my information is correct, build in 3 versions. This ( with the Iron antenna and small tv-screen ) is the oldest version. Alps build a second version with a red plastic antenna and a slightly bigger tv-screen and plastic legs, a few years later. and there was build a third version for cragstan in red, not as a robot but as an astronaut, called Gragstans Great Astronaut. These robots used a pretty complicated technique to drive the eyes, walking and the moving spacescene in the "television". Therefore only look for fully operational examples because these robots are hard to repair.

This first Television Spaceman ( or robot :-)  is the first in the series and was build in 1961 by Alps in Japan. 

The condition of this spaceman is excellent to near mint and so is the box. The robot is all original and has been gently played with and is in perfect condition,no cracks, no rust no dings or scratches mentionalbe. When I found the robot it was covered in dust and that is what this robot gave its charm so I did not even clean the robot, left it the way I found it. I put in battaries in the clean batterycompartment and the robot came alive and started to walk as it also did in the early sixties :) all the actions and lights work perfectly, really a great find !! The spaceman comes in its original box which is also in excellent condition and still has the original inserts.

Alps Television Spaceman of the first generation is hard to find in this excellent condition with original box and in full working order. Very scarce in rare in this condition !!
